BYD vehicle breaks into top three models as market for new light commercials records year-on-year increase. There were 3,612 new commercials registered last month, an increase of 8.1 per cent when compared with 3,342 in June 2024.

New vehicle registrations surged in June 2025, reversing the market’s recent downward trajectory and delivering the strongest monthly result so far this year.

// New car sales up 36%

Toyota RAV4 tops the model chart while Tesla and BYD leap up the sales ladder in June. There were 8,239 new passenger vehicles registered in June, which was up by 36 per cent from 6,056 units in the same month of last year.

// Used imports decrease

Nissan Note biggest climber among top models last month but sector’s overall performance down 12.9 per cent. The latest figure takes the year-to-date total to 41,950, which is 19.4 per cent lower than the 52,048 units at the same stage a year ago.

Used import registrations fell to 7083 units in June 2025, a 14.4% drop compared to the same month last year, when 8271 units were recorded.
