Hongqi, working with Lishen Battery and FAW’s battery subsidiary, has tested an experimental EV battery that charged from 10 to 70 percent in just 3 minutes 41 seconds, and to 97 percent in a little over 8 minutes, using a 12C peak charging rate. The result reportedly edges out BYD’s current flash-charging benchmark, though no production timeline or vehicle has been announced.
